Medicus Dual Hinged Golf Training Driver
Awake late at night, I found myself intrigued by an infomercial for the Medicus Dual Hinged Golf Training Driver. I never buy anything from infomercials but I am an avid golfer, so this one in particular captured my interest. As with any infomercial, it claimed to be the best thing since sliced bread and convinced me that it could work wonders on my golf game. Still, the practical and cheap part of my mind told me to go to bed. I woke up the next day still thinking about this driver, and decided to do some research on the internet.
What makes the Medicus driver different from other drivers is the two hinges located along its length. If one of the hinges “breaks” when you swing with it, that is an indicator that there is a problem with your swing. Furthermore, you not only realize that there is a problem with your swing, but also by determining which hinge breaks, you are able to narrow down the exact problem with your swing instead of guessing what you could be doing incorrectly.
According to the Medicus website, the Dual Hinged Golf Training Driver is the “best selling golf training aid ever.” A skeptic, I needed proof. Nonetheless, I continued to read the claims. Supposedly, it is the #1 swing trainer club in the world, used by at least “half a million amateur golfers and thousands of professionals.” It claimed to be able to help me swing in tempo and on plane. Would the number of amateur users be increased to half a million and one? Curiosity got the best of me and I ordered one so that I could see for myself what this driver could do.
Immediately, I was able to see results. I found after one practice session that my wrist was not positioned correctly and that my position at the top of the swing was off. If I would have had someone next to me “coaching” me on my swing and trying to communicate to me what I was doing wrong, I do not know if they would have even discovered what the driver was able to discover.
I really wanted to like this thing because I cannot stand the idea of wasting money on a useless purchase. After one summer’s use, was able to analyze whether or not the driver made a difference in my game. Hence, the nerd in me actually kept track of all my scores over the summer and found that they were lower than the previous year. I realized that the distance of my shots had also increased. After getting used to the driver, I realized that I was thinking less about the swing, and more about my strategy. The driver allowed me to actually play the game instead of focusing on the minor details that deter some people from playing golf. Although I bought the driver with a money-back guarantee, I was surprised to find myself satisfied with the driver and I kept it.
There are some things that set the Medicus driver apart from other golf aids. I like how I can hit real balls with it and therefore practice on the conditions that a real course provides. It is also quite durable from what I can tell so far. It did not take much time to get used to the handle of it and the swing either. The bonus DVDs I received with the driver really helped and kept my interest. They emphasize the importance of swing plane, tempo, and correct mechanics, as well as giving tips for your swing.
I make sure I use the Medicus driver on a regular basis to keep my swing accurate. I think it is a great club for grooving my swing. The hinge on the driver can be adjusted for sensitivity with an Allen wrench. I found myself adjusting it back and forth just to see how it felt but then reverting to the way it was when I received it. I will be using this driver on a regular basis to keep my swing in check. I am truly glad that I purchased the Medicus driver.
